Stocked with flavors and toppings galore, this Pelham ice cream shop is a great way to cool down as the heat rolls in.
Everyone has a childhood memory of ice cream. Be it chasing the Good Humor man for blocks in search of a Candy Center Crunch, ending summer days with a rocket pop in hand, or bringing a fist full of change to your local ice cream counter because just maybe you have enough for a single scoop. Sweet Lincoln, Pelham’s latest ice cream purveyor, wants to be a part of those memories.
Owned by Mark Kindig and Clay Bushong (also the owner of Cantina Lobos, which is just down the road a piece), Sweet Lincoln offers myriad treats, toppings, and flavor options. Dishing out heaping scoops of Perry’s Ice Cream — a New York-based brand — there are endless ways to create your perfect icy treat. If the flurry of toppings, milkshake options, and flavors has your head in a spin, the ice cream counter offers some preconceived options that take the guesswork out of it all. The “layers” creation melds together the tastiest combinations — we recommend the Nutella, strawberry ice cream with Nutella drizzle, crumbled Heath bar, chocolate sprinkles, and whipped cream.
Sweet Lincoln was a needed addition in such a walkable town as Pelham, which is speckled with restaurants and take-out spots. Look for their ever-rotating seasonal selection of sprinkles and milkshakes. There’s also a recent expansion into offering baked goods, with happy customers walking out with the likes of doughnuts dunked in chocolate and sprinkle-coated Rice Krispie treats. And mark your calendars for Thursday, which signals Free Topping Day at Sweet Lincoln.
