Surprise Cheap Find: Pork Katsu-Don at Fuji Mart

You’ve probably driven by Fuji Mart a hundred times. It’s that small Japanese grocery on a dense strip White Plains Post Road near Lord & Taylor and Trader Joe’s in Scarsdale. But, guess what? On the right side of the modest store, there’s a little restaurant that slings a small menu of ramen, gyoza, and rice dishes like this incredibly delicious, $7 katsu-don; a breaded, crisp-fried pork cutlet over sticky Japanese rice with a gooey poached egg and scallions. Yum.
