Come out to Captain Lawrence Brewery (you know you want to) in Elmsford on Monday, September 15, from 6:30 to 10 pm, for a fun night in support of Autism Speaks. Augie’s Prime Cut steakhouse in Mohegan Lake, whose co-owner’s daughter lives with autism, has raised up to $100,000 for the charity since opening in 2009, and for their 4th annual fundraiser they’ve decided to move the festivities to the brewery, where you can enjoy a cocktail reception, live music by classic rock band The Thornwoods, an open bar, small-plate meals, brewery tours, and more.
This year’s fundraiser will also benefit Community Based Services, an organization dedicated to helping developmentally disabled adults in home and community-based settings. And the next time you’re at Augie’s, you might want to purchase a bottle of their Fat Sal’s Steak Sauce ($6/16 oz), which also donates all proceeds to Autism Speaks.
