Summer music festival season is nearly upon us, with the Sleepy Hollow Music Festival kicking things off just ahead of the official start of the summer equinox. The fest already has all the makings of a must-visit event, with top-notch musical acts on the lineup. Now, there’s even more reason to get excited about the fest, and it comes in the form of a very special collaboration.
As part of a partnership between the Sleepy Hollow Music Festival, River Towns Music Group, and Soul Brewing Company, the Pleasantville brewery is dropping the second annual edition of its Horseman Summer Lager as the official beer of the festival. Since Soul Brewing will be the exclusive vendor serving Horseman Summer Lager at the festival’s onsite beer garden, it will be a must-try while rocking out to the on-stage acts.
The beer
The Horseman Summer Lager is everything you’d want in a festival beer. It’s light, it’s crisp, and it’s highly refreshing. The brew is a take on a Mexican-style lager crafted with maize and finished with New Zealand hops to deliver a subtle hint of lime.
“We believe in brewing full-flavored, yet accessible, balanced, and highly drinkable beers,” explains Allen Wallace, Soul’s owner and brewmaster.
While the beer will be available to taste at the Sleepy Hollow Music Festival’s beer garden on Saturday, June 7 at Kingsland Point Park, that doesn’t mean you have to wait a whole month to try it. This Saturday, May 3, the beer will make its grand debut for the season at the Rock the Riverbank competition at Horan’s Landing. Following the occasion, it will also be sold at Soul Brewing Company and select bars and retailers leading up to the festival.
The festival
The hyperlocal collaboration is an exciting teaser for the festival next month, which already has the makings of a showstopper. Band of Horses will serve as the headliner, with additional acts to include Jade Bird, Living Colour, Fantastic Cat, Carissa Johnson & The Cure Alls, Brighton Beat, Alex Cano, Christine Chanel, and more. The performers will grace not one, but two music stages over the course of the day at Kingsland Point Park.
In addition to the acts, attendees can look forward to food trucks, craft vendors, a dedicated kids zone, and a VIP area. To learn more about the festival and purchase tickets, visit the website.
