As summer enters the homestretch, we’re celebrating sweet endings with decadent, ooey-gooey desserts across Westchester County.

National S’mores Day is August 10, and what better way to celebrate than to check out some local riffs on this favorite chocolate-marshmallow snack? Even if the cravings last longer than the day (as they should), these sweet treats will keep summer vibes going strong.

Shake Things Up

Bona Bona starts us off strong with the over-the-top Italian Campfire Milkshake: smooth Nutella-s’mores ice cream served in a Nutella-rimmed glass with whipped cream, roasted marshmallows, and salted graham cracker crumble. You can also order the Nutella s’mores ice cream solo or try your luck with the s’mores lava cake, a Valrhona chocolate cake topped with graham cracker ice cream and whip.

S’mores in a Cup

You won’t have to worry about getting your hands sticky with melted marshmallows with The Cookery’s sophisticated take on the classic campfire treat. Chocolate polenta topped with toasted house marshmallow and a salted cannoli shell is s’mores in a cup for dessert lovers at this Italian gastropub that promises to cook great food and have fun doing it!

S’mores Martini. Need We Say More?

At Mount Kisco’s Exit 4 Food Hall, sip the day away with a sweet and smooth s’mores martini, composed of caramel vodka, fresh espresso, and a chocolatey graham cracker rim, for a yummy pick-me-up. Pair it with a chocolate chip cookie pizza and call it the best day ever.

Make It a Double (Scoop)

Known for its small batch, premium ice cream, Longford’s in Rye serves up this chocolate ice cream studded with graham crackers, marshmallows, and (more chocolate!) chocolate chips.

Roast Your Own

Sometimes the hands-on experience of turning marshmallows over the fire until they’re perfectly golden brown is the best part. Stop short of starting a fire pit in your backyard and head over to the White Plains’ Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ for the real deal. Diners cook their own meats and seafood at this Asian barbecue joint — but the s’mores is a crowd favorite.
