Can you guess which Westchester eatery Far & Wide ranked as one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in America?

Food lovers in Westchester County have it so good. No matter which sort of meal or cuisine they’re craving, there’s a restaurant in the 914 to satisfy. So, when online travel site Far & Wide put together its list of the “35 Most Delicious Middle Eastern Restaurants in the U.S.,” it was hardly surprising that a Westchester eatery earned a place on it.

So, can you guess which restaurant it is?

It’s Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar!

Located in Elmsford, Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar secured the 27th spot on the list, with a 60.2 rating overall. As for what makes it stand out, the dining establishment was praised for its use of Persian flavor outside of New York City. According to Far & Wide, “you’ll dream about the dates stuffed with feta and walnuts for weeks after dining here, and you may become obsessed with the fragrant saffron chicken kabob and asparagus, especially when you pair it with a glass of Iranian wine.”

If that sounds mouthwatering to the extreme, that’s because it is. As a Bib Michelin Gourmand eatery in the 2020 and 2021 Michelin guides, Shiraz Kitchen shines in Westchester through its authentic Middle Eastern fare. The restaurant, which also has a location in New York City, is well-known for its palate-pleasing bites, not to mention its curated, unique wine list.

As for the wine list, it’s comprised of more than 15 wines by the glass, so do yourself a favor and order yourself whatever your waiter recommends to savor with your meal.

Plus, for anyone who wants to take the flavors of Shiraz home, the restaurant’s next-door Mediterranean Market is the perfect place to do just that. The storefront is stocked with a selection of teas, spices, and international breads and bites to add Persian flavors to your home cooking endeavors.
