Make your reservations now for the county’s newest and returning Michelin-ranked restaurants, including the latest Bib Gourmands.

While local restaurants are gearing up for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, local gourmands have another reason to celebrate. Michelin has released its 2021 list of elevated eateries and, for the second time, restaurants from Westchester County feature on the list.

Last year, the esteemed guide made the choice to include New York’s “sixth borough” as part of the city listings, a natural conclusion, says Michelin Guide International Director Gwendal Poullennec.

“As an international reference and trusted companion for travelers for more than 120 years, Michelin is honored to recognize the evolution of gastronomy and culinary talent in Westchester County,” he says. “Inspectors were particularly impressed by the technique and highest quality of ingredients that they discovered during multiple visits to the area.”

Exemplifying this trend was Westchester’s very first entry into the Michelin Star catalog: Chef in Residence at Blue Hill at the Stone Barns Center for Agriculture in Pocantico Hills. The farm-to-table Dan Barber location, itself a 2004 offshoot of the NYC Blue Hill, retains its rank as the only starred restaurant outside of NYC with a hefty two stars (outpacing the original, by the by). This year, the restaurant was also awarded a brand-new “Green Star” award for sustainable cooking.

Westchester also beefed up (sorry) its 2021 Bib Gourmand distinctions, restaurants Michelin says serve “quality food at a good value,” i.e., two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for about $40 or less.

In New Rochelle, established Croatian restaurant Dubrovnik once again made the list of gourmands, as did Maria Restaurant. Chef Peter Beck’s RaaSa Fine Indian Cuisine and Mediterranean-Persian restaurant Shiraz Kitchen both made the cut for the town of Elmsford, while new Italian Café Alaia represented Scarsdale. Perennial Dobbs Ferry favorite The Cookery also made the cut, as did Pleasantville’s Southern Table, which rounds out the county’s first inductees with its typical southern flair.

New additions to the list include Badageoni Georgian Kitchen in Mount Kisco, Boro6 Wine Bar in Hastings-on-Hudson, Burrata in Eastchester, Pelham’s Macelleria Italian SteakhouseRafael Rye, and tredici SOCIAL in Bronxville.

Sadly, Eugene’s Diner in Port Chester remains closed, reducing our county totals by one. If you want to compensate, however, Armonk’s Zero Otto Nove‘s NYC location is still listed, meaning you can still round up to an incredible 15 Westchester locations.

Though unrated, Michelin also lists restaurants where it finds exceptional food with “Plate Michelin” designations. In Westchester, this includes:
