Where to Take Mom for a Mother’s Day Meal in Westchester

If you want to make Mother’s Day extra-special, but you’re not looking for the extra work, let these Westchester restaurants take care of it.

Mother’s Day is a time to show mom how much she means to you! Some of Westchester’s favorite restaurants are making sure you can celebrate mom with amazing menus and festive family dining deals.

Apropos

900 Fort Hill Rd, Peekskill

Choose three courses from a locally sourced menu with farm products from Norwich Meadows, Eckerton Hill, Hepworth, and Hudson River Fruit. Chef Jared Secor has designed an impressive menu which starts with a choice between ricotta toast with morel or an arugula and strawberry salad with local goat cheese. Entrées include roasted sea bass with heirloom carrots, crispy local chicken with rainbow chard, and cavatelli with broccoli rabe pesto. Finish off with moscato panna cotta, angel food cake with house strawberry jam, or chocolate tart with warm vanilla cream. Open Mother’s Day noon to 7 p.m., $70 per person. Reservations recommended.

Benjamin Steakhouse

Treat mom to a well-deserved, hearty, three-course meal under the glorious outdoor tent with skylight or indoors in the sophisticated and stylish dining room where first course choices range from classic Caesar salad to jumbo shrimp cocktail, jumbo lump crab cake with red pepper coulis, or lobster bisque laced with brandy. Then it’s onto the main course where dry-aged USDA prime meats are the highlight (think: filet mignon and ribeye), with rack of lamb and Norwegian salmon just as tempting. Traditional steakhouse sides complement the meal, including signature Benjamin home fries, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and more. For dessert, choose from New York cheesecake, carrot cake, or chocolate mousse cake, along with coffee and tea service. ($94.95 pp; Noon to 10 p.m.)

Bread & Brine

The standard (and outstanding) New England menu will be the thing come Mother’s Day, with dishes like lobster rolls, chowder, baked clams, shishito peppers, lobster grilled cheese, fried seafood, and grilled whole branzino. Leave room for dessert, with choices including key lime pie mousse and Longford’s ice cream. Indoor/outdoor dining and takeout available, noon to 8:30 p.m.

Chutney Masala

Treat your mother like a queen with a feast of classic Indian dishes like chicken tikka masala, goan shrimp curry, bhindi kurkuri, and much more. A pre-fixe family style menu, designed for parties of six or more, will be offered on Mother’s Day ($250 per package). Available for dine-in or carry-out. Vegetarian menu available upon request.

The Cookery

This Italian gastropub has some flavorful dishes prepared just for Mom. On Mother’s Day, a brunch will be offered ($65 pp). Treat Mom to this three-course brunch with starters such as pasta fagioli, meatballs, and duck liver cannoli. For the entrée selections, expect unique dishes including the Hungry Mother: fried eggs with house maple sausage and bacon, crispy tots, and brown sauce. In addition, consider creste di gallo with pesto, spring peas, smoked almond, and onion blossom, or a crisp pork osso buco. Enjoy white chocolate polenta, olive oil cake, stickabutta pie, and more for dessert! In addition to brunch, The Cookery will be open for regular dinner service with Mother’s Day specials.

Dubrovnik Restaurant

Expect a special Mother’s Day menu (11 a.m. to close) with new seafood and raw bar options, including grilled calamari, seared dry sea scallops, a Dalmatian platter, and Dubrovnik signature salad. For the main course, choices include octopus under ‘the bell,’ soft-shell crabs, pasta morski plodovi, spring lamb, and filet mignon. Finish off with your choice of dessert, all on the restaurant’s beautiful outdoor terraces or inside the grand dining space.

Giordano’s

This traditional Italian restaurant will open early just for Mother’s Day, serving brunch (noon to 3 p.m.) and dinner (3 p.m. to close). A bottomless brunch will be offered (+$25) along with a variety of brunch options such as a pastry basket with mini bagels and danishes, spinach and artichoke omelet, a morning burger with Angus beef and fried egg, and more. For dinner, Chef Joe has prepared a three-course prix fixe menu for $55 per person (ala carte menu and kid’s menu also available). Expect divine Italian dishes for all three courses, including Sicilian meatballs served over creamy polenta, homemade mozzarella with cured meat and pickled vegetables, ravioli with wild mushrooms and parmesan cream, risotto Milanese with garlic shrimp, veal parmesan with fresh tomato, and chicken rollatini with ham mozzarella.

The Greekish

Chef Constantine Kalandranis invites you to visit his restaurant on Mother’s Day for a three-course, prix-fixe dinner menu ($65 per person includes your choice of dip, meze, and entrée). Signature dips include creamy fava hummus, slow-melted eggplant and sofrito, and spicy whipped feta. Meze offerings include Greekish salad, fried halloumi cheese, mini falafel lettuce wraps, and grilled chicken wings. For the entrees, choose from hand-picked fish of the day, sizzling octopus, gyro and fries, and more. Save room for desserts like the chocolate and halva cake served with cinnamon ice cream.

Hudson Social

If you’re looking for a view to celebrate this Mother’s Day, Hudson Social is the spot to be. Fit with an outdoor bar and patio dining with a waterfront view, the eatery is open for brunch (noon to 3 p.m.) or dinner (4 p.m. to close). To celebrate the right way, chef/owner Matt Kay offers a signature frosé cocktail ($15/cup) in addition to the regular New American menu and the list of fun, handcrafted cocktails.

La Casa Bronxville

El Día de la Madre can be extra-special in the beautifully designed restaurant of La Casa. Brunch and lunch (11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.), as well as dinner (4-9 p.m.) will be served, and can be enjoyed in the dining room and in individual outdoor cabana spaces. All areas of the restaurant reflect a warm and welcoming coastal Mexican vibe. Expect classic and unique dishes including La Casa Ensalada with beets, jicama, green mango, queso fresco, pumpkin seeds, and a citrus vinaigrette; Maine crab on crispy tortilla with avocado, tomato, and cilantro; shrimp in red pepper sauce, white beans, and bok choy; and the relatively new to the menu pan-seared salmon with mango pico de gallo salsa. Treat mom to restaurant favorite margaritas, as well as the newly launched spring cocktails including the El Pepino, a perfect blend of tequila, cucumber and celery juice, and serrano syrup.

Treat mom to great food in a welcoming atmosphere at this Mediterranean French bistro. On Mother’s Day, a prix fixe menu will be offered for $65.95 per person, from noon to 7 p.m. Appetizers include asparagus Milanese, wild mushroom soup, French country meatball with creamy polenta, and grilled octopus salad. For the main course, choose from duck confit, sautéed salmon, bouillabaisse, steak au poivre, lamb shank, and more. Finish the meal with divine desserts, including Serge’s banana cake and lemon tart.

L’Inizio

What Mom can resist a tasty brunch? This downtown Ardsley spot serves up a specialty brunch menu from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Choose from small plates items such as crispy cauliflower with lemon aioli, bomboloni “Italian donuts,” and avocado toast with crispy shallots. Large plate choices include fluffy pancakes topped with honey-coated berries, a gouda burger with horseradish aioli, octopus with chorizo and fried egg, and Emmy’s juicy egg sandwich. Add an adult beverage with choices such as Bloody Mary, Montepulciano, and seasonal mimosas and sangrias.

For brunch, options include avocado toast, rosemary potato pizza, and ricotta pancakes. Make it a bottomless brunch for $19.99 pp (choose from mimosa, peach Bellini, sangria, or Bloody Mary). For dinner, appetizers include fried calamari, coconut shrimp, and tomato bruschetta, with the entrée selection featuring chicken francese, linguini with white clam sauce, and grilled churrasco with chimichurri sauce. The outdoor patios at both locations are open for brunch and dinner.

The Bit

Enjoy a bottomless brunch ($26 pp) with signature cocktails including Dobbs Berry and Jelly Jar, along with classics such as Bloody Marys and mimosas. A variety of delectable dishes will be served, including tofu peanut satays, pork dumplings, green curry shrimp, chili chicken basil, spring rolls, and more. A condiment bar will be on hand to take the flavor to the next level (chili sambal, sweet chili, soya sauce, spicy sriracha, and jhol momo). For dessert, mom can enjoy coconut panna cotta, warm sticky rice, and fresh-cut fruits.

In addition, there will be $5 mimosa, Bellini, and Bloody Mary drinks for moms and all! Dinner starts at 4 p.m. and is a more intimate and casual dining environment.
