Forks at the ready! Westchester County restaurants layer noodles with homemade sauces and cheese for Italian comfort food like you’ve never tasted before.

Is there anything more satisfying than that perfect square of lasagna slowly melting into your plate in dreamy layers of tomato sauce and ricotta cheese? We love our homestyle lasagna dishes because, for that one perfect bite, our indulgence bears no guilt. Here, we gathered together our favorite lasagna dishes in Westchester that will satisfy all of your al dente desires.

Carlo’s Restaurant

668 Tuckahoe Rd, Yonkers; 914.793.1458

Those of us who tend to be a bit weary of change know that old-school is the way to go. Carlo’s has been serving its home-made lasagna for around 60 years. Made with ground beef, fresh mozzarella, and creamy ricotta, the noodle layers make us wonder why we over-complicate what is already so mouth-wateringly delicious. Order the lasagna for yourself (still two meals, if you pace yourself) or get it family-style, which serves three to four.

La Fattoria

55 E Main St, New Rochelle; 914.813.8899

This roadside eatery has been turning heads with its focus on Northern Italian cuisine — meats, cheeses, butter and cream-based sauces — so it’s no surprise, then, that this brilliant cube of deliciousness has all the hallmarks of our childhood dinners with Nonna. No matter what, go for the rough pearls of ground meat, radicchio, and a crispy browned top that’s all but bathed in a creamy béchamel.

Rosie’s Bistro Italiano

10 Palmer Ave, Bronxville; 914.793.2000

Feeling adventurous? Come to Rosie’s Bistro to try the “Lasagna Malfatto.” This dish might look a bit different from the lasagna you are used to, as it loosely translates to “deconstructed lasagna.” Cheese lovers rejoice: It’s served with both mozzarella and ricotta, along with layers of ribbon pasta and topped with a Bolognese sauce.

Maestros

1329 North Ave, New Rochelle; 914.636.6813

This family-run Italian has stood for 32 years to prove that lasagna does not need to have meat to be a tasty treat. The veggie lasagna is made with broccoli, mushrooms, and onion sautéed in a flavorful salt and pepper sauce. It is then topped with a savory tomato sauce and dollops of ricotta cheese. Talk about down-home Italian without breaking your diet!
