A second location for a Westchester favorite, a Colombian eatery in White Plains, and more make the month delicious.

Kamol “Mae” Uttarapas, owner of Durian in Larchmont, has opened a second location, Durian New Rochelle (227 Main St; 914.576.0444; duriannewrochelle.com), in the space that formerly housed Red Lotus. “I was constantly turning people away,” says Uttarapas of her tiny, 40-seat original restaurant. The menu at the new location is similar, with a few new items, including spinach noodles with peanut sauce and moo aob (grilled marinated pork with tamarind dipping sauce).

Debuting in October was Colombian House (175 Main St, White Plains; 914.615.9945; colombianhouse.com), a sister restaurant to the original in New Rochelle. On the menu: pandebono (cheese bread), fried crackling pork (chicharron) with sausage and mini empanadas; churrasco marinero (grilled skirt steak with garlic shrimp), and salmon in mango sauce.

The first county location of Shah’s Halal Food (40 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains; 914.949.0747; shahshalalfood.com) has opened. With 30-plus locations in the U.S., plus more in Canada and England, the chain serves gyros, falafel, lamb or chicken kabab over rice, and sandwiches, plus baklava for dessert.

Javaheads and hopheads alike will be happy about the opening of 25-seat roastery and beer purveyor Here Coffee + Beer (20 Main St, Ossining; 914.233.1189). Along with domestic and local beers, an array of European cans and bottles are offered.
