Argana

Port Chester

Fall firepits add infinite allure to the intimate, tucked-between-the-buildings courtyard of this modern Moroccan restaurant where signature tagines and authentic kebabs shine equally bright — and prove just as warm and soul soothing. Westchester’s only Moroccan tent provides an added swaddle as the season progresses.

Bedford Post Inn

Bedford

Expect a duo of star-topped dining areas warmed by firepits: the graceful patio of The Barn, a casual restaurant where the local, seasonally driven menu offers a nod to the South of France; and The Terrace, a midcentury-modern outdoor lounge (slated to be in full swing at press time), where small plates emerge from a dedicated wood-burning oven and Asador grill, and patio-focused cocktails arrive in pitchers.

Birdsall House

Peekskill

A cold one or a warming whiskey go down easy aside the firepit in the rustic outdoor space of this northerly gastropub known for its beer list and eclectic, locally sourced dishes. These include succulent grilled lamb sliders with tzatziki and tomato jam, and a burger that packs a powerful punch, with house-blended seasoned brisket between a puffy brioche bun.

Tarrytown

The lush green lawns of the Tarrytown House Estate’s King Mansion play host to a plethora of glowing firepits and string lights, second only to chef Dale Talde’s dazzling take on classic Cantonese fare, such as, char siu Berkshire pork belly with honeydew mostarda, dry-aged beef potstickers, and fall-off-the-bone Kung Pao chicken wings.

Dobbs Ferry

Don’t expect fall shivers when you’re lounging by the firepit at this inviting American bistro in view of the Hudson (within the historic Dobbs Ferry Metro-North station), where crispy Brussels sprouts, slow-roasted brisket with charred broccoli, and craft cocktails warm from the inside out.
