With summer in full swing, let’s unleash our cravings for some of Westchester’s most refreshing foods, shall we? At the top of this list are, of course, lobster rolls. They are a staple of New England cuisine, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy them right here in Westchester! Pull up a seat and dig into some of these succulent seafood sandwiches.

The Barley Beach House

95 Dearborn Ave, Rye, 914.481.5505

Have a New England staycation with beach-side seating and endless Sound vistas and, while you’re at it, swan dive into a Connecticut-style lobster roll that’s all about the triple B: butter and a brioche bun. In between those fluffy bookends, indulge in fresh, cold-cracked Maine lobster with celery, plus that butter and toasted brioche bun, and bon voyage all your cares away.

The Boathouse

46 Westerly Rd, Ossining; 914.923.6466

This lobster roll is as classic as they get: Chunks of claw meat slathered in tarragon aioli and served on a toasted and buttered New England-style hot dog bun, accompanied by a side of French fries and coleslaw. Come to The Boathouse for live music and a scenic view of the Hudson River, then stay for the lobster rolls.

This tasty sandwich is infused with herbs and lemon zest. The brioche bun is toasted and buttered, with the word KEE artfully branded on top. The restaurant emphasizes that the roll is “light on the mayo, heavy on the lobster,” which sounds perfectly divine to us. For added crunch, it’s served with Old Bay chips.

With this restaurant’s luscious lobster rolls, you can enjoy the generously buttered, medium-toasted rolls and refined ratio of lobster meat to mayonnaise.
