Anyone can roast a turkey and open a can of cranberry sauce. But with a little patience and a few choice tips and recipes from some of Westchester County’s most talented local chefs, you can really knock the socks off of your family and friends this Thanksgiving.
To accomplish this herculean culinary feet, we’ve enlisted the help of six seasoned veterans of the local foodie scene: personal chef to acclaimed celebrities Antony J. Ballard; Leslie Lampert, matriarch of Bronxville’s Ladle of Love; River City Grille chef-owner Bobby Manzi; John Chambal, chef-owner of the former Good Food in Briarcliff Manor; Chef Gregory Gilbert, owner of the now defunct Memphis Mae’s smokehouse in Croton-on-Hudson; and Chef Jacqueline Veliz, pastry chef of the former Ritz-Carlton Westchester. They’ll walk you through six dishes that, when paired together, will work in concert to create a meal so breathtaking (and filling!) that your guests will swear you had the whole thing catered.
From apps and sides to a mouthwatering smoked turkey — and an über-autumnal tart that’ll put even Aunt Bessie’s famous pumpkin pie to shame — these are Westchester Magazine‘s favorite thanksgiving recipes. Which ones will you make first?
