Walking into Armonk’s SugarHi is overwhelming (in a good way) if you love sweets as much as I do. Where to begin? Where to end? Co-owner Hillary Assael walked me through the shop, pointing out 8 not-to-miss desserts.

SugarHi’s version has a vanilla swirl on top, unlike the boxed delicacies of the past. The store’s versions include the classic with marshmallow butter cream covered with chocolate and seasonal flavors such as coconut, lemon, and raspberry.
Freak Shakes
Available in four flavors and perfect for Instagram. The Freak Shakes (pictured right) run the gamut from a cotton candy shake with colored sprinkles to the J-Ray – a chocolate peanut butter shake with Reese’s pieces and a pretzel rod.
Banana Pudding
While Assael doesn’t like bananas, she makes this excellent American classic with sweet vanilla flavored custard, Graham crackers, and bananas.
Waffles
A Belgian waffle-maker from Belgium produces sublime Liège waffles. Toppings include whipped cream, hot fudge, and Nutella. Look for grab-and-go mini-waffles later in the year.
Cookies
These quarter-pounders are meant for sharing. There’s classic chocolate chip, funfetti (pictured above), and chocolate chocolate chip with marshmallows. Seasonal flavors include red velvet and pumpkin.
Pop-Tarts
Definitely better than the ones that come wrapped in foil and in a box. SugarHi serves brown sugar cinnamon, raspberry, and chocolate.
Bars
Choose from S’mores with graham cracker crust (pictured above), fudge made from Hershey bars, and a layer of perfectly browned marshmallows or Rice Krispies treats topped with choice of Fruit Loops, Cocoa Pebbles, or sprinkles, or the classic unadorned.
Naughty Brownies
Brownies with a brownie base, a layer of Oreos, and a layer of chocolate chip cookies on top.
