Pizza can fix just about anything. Loaded with carbs and covered with cheese, this ideal comfort food can bring families together. “Everyone eats pizza,” says Joseph Reda, owner of Euro Pizza, which has three locations in Westchester. Reda opened the business’s first location in White Plains with his brother Vincent 25 years ago. Since then, the duo has opened two more locations — one in Briarcliff in 2008 and another in Rye just this past year.
Sons of immigrants from Calabria, Italy, Joseph and Vincent Reda have childhood memories of making food and cooking with their family. Jarring an entire year’s worth of tomato sauce was an event. The whole family would come together and make sauce, sausage, and wine. “It was like a party for two or three days,” recalls Joseph.
Growing up in Yonkers, the Redas had white peach trees and a garden that took up most of their backyard. While their parents were not professionals in the culinary industry, the two brothers were taught how to cook from scratch, a tradition they enjoy bringing to their shops. All food at Euro Pizza is made in-house and from scratch, including the pizza dough, sauces, dressings, butter, ketchup, roasted peppers, and sundried tomatoes. Euro Pizza offers whole-wheat pizza and pasta and gluten-free pizza and pasta. Their signature pizza is the Caprese (pizza with fresh basil and fresh mozzarella). Joseph manages the Briarcliff location while Vincent manages the White Plains location. “With a small company, my brother and I have our hands in every aspect. We break up our responsibility and it works well for us,” says Joseph.
All three locations have the same menu to ensure that all customers have the same experience at each. The company delivers and caters large and small events including corporate events and parties.
