Billy Bishop and Peter Smith opened Billy & Pete’s Social (112 Myrtle Blvd, Larchmont; 914.909.5289) in May in the space that formerly housed Plates Restaurant with the goal of dining simply with excellent food, strong drinks, and great friends. Seating more than 60 outside, Billy & Pete’s offers signature craft cocktails, salads, and both Detroit- and grill-style pizza (above). You also won’t want to miss their large assortment of mini-donuts only available on weekends from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The majority-takeout (only five tables) Meat the Greek (8 Mill Rd, Eastchester; 914.346.8664) was launched June 2020  by George Menegatos. The family-owned restaurant is dedicated to serving traditional Greek cuisine; the menu consists of gyros, wraps, souvlaki, bowls and burgers with the signatures being the gyro platter and the chicken gyro toasted wrap.

With its buzzing sister restaurant located in NYC, Hummus Place, Ori Apple debuted Falafel Place (2219 Central Ave, Yonkers; 914.902.0072) January 2020. Falafel Place serves Mediterranean classics like shakshuka, falafel pita sandwiches, and meze. The menu is entirely vegetarian/vegan and celebrates bold spices, fresh flavors, and elevated hummus and falafel variations.
