Unfortunately, we won’t be able to dine out at our favorite Mexican restaurants tonight to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. (Ordering takeout tacos and tequila wouldn’t be a bad idea.) So, we reached out to Kyle Inserra of La La Taqueria in Larchmont to share his margarita recipe, and we’re happy to report it’s about as easy as it gets.

½ cup blanco tequila
1½-2 Tbsp agave nectar
¼ cup fresh lime juice
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
Kosher salt
Lime wedges

Preparation

  1. Prep your glass. Pour some kosher salt into a small dish. Rub a lime wedge along half the rim of a margarita or rocks glass. Roll the rim of the glass in salt.
  2. Combine tequila, agave, and juices in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake well. Strain into prepared glasses, and top with a splash of soda, if desired. Garnish with lime wedges.
