Cakes and cake slices, pastries, doughnuts, breads, sandwiches, and salads are all on offer, plus seasonal specials such as cookies-and-cream mochi doughnuts, a smoked-salmon, cream-cheese-stuffed croissant, and cranberry-pecan baked Brie…In another first county location of a national chain, Bonchon (220 Main St, White Plains; 914.922.2001; bonchon.com) has debuted serving hand-battered Korean fried chicken, bulgogi fries, bibimbap, and Korean doughnuts.
New ownership at La Botte (14 Martine Ave, White Plains; 914.461.2950; labotteristorante.com) brings a new menu with dry-aged-in-house steaks, house-made pastas (try the squid-ink tagliolini with salmon, sambuca, and tomato cream, or gnocchi with Gorgonzola and crumbled pistachio), and diver scallops with fava-bean purée.
Prepared meal delivery company, Feast & Fettle (feastandfettle.com), based out of East Providence, RI, recently expanded to service Westchester. Meals are cooked and chilled (never frozen) the evening before delivery date, and then dropped off at a cold-storage facility in Port Chester, from which 914 deliveries depart. Menus change weekly (14 entrées and 14 sides are offered); some favorites to try are chicken pot pie, steak tips, and birria tacos. Options sensitive to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free diets are often included.
