At the recent second annual Jets Upfront event, the New York Jets showed off one of several ways they are looking to make their fans happier at MetLife Stadium: new and improved food at the Toyota Club.
There are at least six new “food destinations” at the upper level alone. The Fat Rooster offers a juicy, spicy hot chicken breast sandwich with house-made sweet pickles, apple cider slaw, and honey aioli on a King’s Hawaiian bun, as well as french fries with various toppings. Barbecue Shack serves up the P3 pulled pork platter featuring dry-rubbed, smoked pork butt, smoked sausage, and a thick sliced, smoked slab bacon. Grater Mac Shop has four types of mac ’n’ cheese mix-ins. Global Pie offers sweet empanadas, including a s’mores pie and a brandy apple pie. Sushi Station, a collaboration with Soy Kitchen, offers two on-trend foodie items: salmon and tuna poke bowls and sushi burritos, made to order. There will also be a bar with several craft beers on tap, and the usual stadium food is still on offer, including $7 value meals.

MetLife Stadium Executive Chef Camilo Baquero said that the location has been doing food concepts for the past five years, and has wanted to take over the concession stands to enhance the game day experience for all fans. This year, The Fat Rooster is the main focus. “We wanted to create a brand,” he said. “Now it’s time to challenge ourselves with all this restaurant-style food that we’ll be able to execute at stands throughout the building.”
All the new offerings will debut during the Jets’ home opening game versus the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, September 24.
