Prior to being a judge on MasterChef, Graham Elliot was best known for having one of the only two Chicago restaurants to garner two Michelin stars. The slimmed-down chef (he lost 130 pounds in 2013) has brought his creative interpretations of American classics to our area with Primary Food & Drink, a dinner-only restaurant on Greenwich’s main thoroughfare. The menu offers such selections as lobster schnitzel with panko breadcrumbs and cauliflower mousse; beef stroganoff with a truffle coulis; and Berkshire pork chop with collard greens and a root-beer barbecue sauce. Entrées are $29 to $42; after, make room for desserts like apple beignets with honeycomb candy and caramel corn.
Primary’s executive chef/managing partner is Merlin Verrier, previously director of operations for restaurants Graham Elliot and Graham Elliot Bistro in Chicago.
