The Gingerbread-Flavored Treats to Savor in Westchester

These Westchester cafes and bakeries offer delicious gingerbread treats that taste even more festive than they look.

Who doesn’t love a sweet gingerbread treat during the holiday season? Whether you’re sticking with the classic gingerbread house or going outside the box with a gingerbread scone, these eateries have what you need.

First Village Coffee

123 Main St, Ossining; 914.236.3765

This comfy coffee shop serves up specialty coffee, good vibes, and a few gingerbread treats. If you’re looking for a sweet side to your morning cup of joe, the gingerbread scones will hit the spot. The vegan scone is made with gingerbread spice and molasses and is topped with oat icing and cinnamon. It’s only available for a limited time, so grab it while you can! Additionally, the shop is selling a holiday macaron box which includes gingerbread-spiced macarons and caramel macarons.

Who doesn’t love crafting their own gingerbread house? Lucky for you, this local shop sells everything you need to make a tricked-out edible house. The kit comes with freshly baked cookie house pieces, two Christmas trees and a snowman, a board with LED lights, frosting, and candy for decorating (or eating, we won’t judge).

We could indulge in a whole lineup of Baked by Susan’s treats, but there’s one in particular that takes the cake this time of year. You can’t go wrong with the gingersnap cookies available in the wholesale bakery as well as cafes and markets around the county. The brand also sells gingerbread house kits in case you’re in a crafty mood.

Sweetie Pies

Multiple pickup locations

These adorable handmade pies are made using organic ingredients. The owner, Melissa Cassese, cuts each pie from her homemade dough and fills it with jams and fillings she makes from scratch. Now, if that doesn’t sell you, the flavors will. Tiramisu, s’mores, wild berry, snickerdoodle creme brulee, and gingerbread make up the menu. The latter is filled with gingerbread custard and topped with gingerbread cream cheese icing, caramel, and crushed graham cracker.
