This week, look for the ne plus ultra of Wine and Food Weekend freebies: we’re giving away two hard-to-score tickets to our fabled Burger Bash! Only on Facebook (and only if you “like” us)—good luck, all you Bashers!

Burger Bash, June 6!

What happens when you get a whole bunch of great Westchester chefs all together for a good ol’ American cookout loaded with beer, wine, cocktails and some seriously funky live music? Fun happens, that’s what—and maybe a bit of mayhem. Last year, it was a big, crazy block party the likes of which this county has never seen.

Imagine chefs from all your favorite restaurants flipping burgers, beers in hands. They’re grooving to the music along with a crowd of more than 1000 revelers. Last year, there was a bit of mischief, which is bound to be expected when chefs get together. Just as they will this year—these chefs wanted your Best in Bash chip for a year’s worth of bragging rights. (In case you haven’t heard, whichever restaurant earns the most chips wins Best in Bash.) Look for the Best in Bash competition to heat up this year.

This year, the party has been re-located to the gorgeous Kensico Dam. We’ll have more room and more restaurantsand, by more, we’re talking more than 30 restaurants vying for your Best in Bash chip. X2O, Restaurant North, Birdsall House, Peekskill Brewery, The Cookery’s DoughNation, MP Taverna, Harper’s Restaurant, Arrosto, Crabtree’s Kittle House, Emma’s Ale Housethey’ll all be there, along with twenty (plus) more. We’ve done the calculation: there will be thousands and thousands of burgers on offer.

But get this. We’re also amping up the bevvies for Burger Bash 2013. Along with the great (and unlimited) Captain Lawrence and Blue Moon beers that we served in 2012, we’ll have fabulous Slovenia Vodka cocktails and Fetzer wine from Zachy’s. There’ll be Pepsi sodas on offer for all of you designated drivers, plus, we’ve teamed up with Leros Point to Point for discounted rides to and from all of Westchester Magazine Food and Wine Weekend events. When you book a car at Leros (914.747-2300), just mention “Wine and Food Special” for a 30  percent discount.

Plus, check out who we’ve snagged to man the stageMary C and the Stellars. She’s bound to keep it funky with her blues-inflected spin on all-American soul.

The amazing part? This kickoff under the stars to summer 2013 (that offers unlimited food and drink from your favorite chefs, breweries, distillers and wine stores) is all yours for $65. Be sure book your tickets today—to be honest, we don’t know how long they’ll last!
