Where to Get the Hottest Frozen Hot Chocolate in Westchester

Everyone's favorite winter drink gets a summertime twist that's refreshing, sweet, and all about the chocolate.

We’re well into iced coffee season, but for all the chocoholics in the room who long for Ol’ Man Winter to slide a hot cocoa across the counter, consider a frozen hot chocolate to tide you over. Here are a few chilly, chocolatey, smooth, and satisfying sips we can’t stop dreaming about, particularly on sultry summer nights in Westchester.

Tazza Café in Armonk (among three other locations across Westchester) makes its classic frozen hot chocolate by blending frozen hot chocolate powder purchased from Big Train with milk and ice in a professional blender and topping it all off with whipped cream.

Booskerdoo in Ardsley does things a little differently. This coffee joint doesn’t have traditional frozen hot cocoa, opting instead for an equally delectable frozen treat dubbed the “Iced Ardsley.” Baristas describe it as a creamy beverage — not blended — that’s usually topped with whipped cream and chocolate. Cold, chocolatey beverages like these are an ideal way to get your drinkable decadence on a hot summer day.

Both options are available on the menu year-round. Highly recommended add-ons are espresso and whipped cream for a silky smooth sipping experience.

Peekskill Coffee House

101 S Division St, Peekskill; 914.739.1287

This local gem is known for its coffee but includes plenty of blended drinks on its menu. For those looking to ditch the caffeine while keeping that sweetness in their order, try going a little off the menu and opting for a frozen hot chocolate — with either peanut butter, extra chocolate, caramel, or coconut flakes.  If you’re looking for something equally as sweet, check out the latest addition to the menu: a cold brew float!
