Everything You Need to Know From Westchester’s Dining Scene This Month

The latest foodie happenings in the county this January.

Replacing the short-lived Fiorella Pizzeria Italiana is Tentempie Madrid Tapas Bar (260 Mamaroneck Ave, Mamaroneck; 914.630.2694), a 16-seat, dinner-only Spanish restaurant serving hot (e.g., garlic shrimp, empanadas) and cold (e.g., octopus and potatoes, gazpacho) tapas, plus cheese and charcuterie.

In an adjacent space to his MP Taverna, Michael Psilakis has opened Route B (1 Bridge St, Irvington; 914.826.2295), a full-service, fast-casual Mediterranean (mostly) eatery with 28 seats serving custom bowls, burgers, salads, and burritos.

Chef Eric Korn of Monteverde at Oldstone in Cortlandt Manor and Samantha Benjamin of The Dessertist are hosting Elephant Tree, a five-course pop-up with wine pairings at Benjamin’s Croton-on-Hudson shop (50 Maple St; 914.737.6555). Dates are Jan 10-11, 17-18, 24-25, 31-Feb 1, and Feb 7-8 ($110/pp, including tax and service). Expect dishes such as prawns with black garlic focaccia and watercress; spit-roasted Hemlock Hills lamb, and pain au chocolat with raspberry.

Ridge Hill had added two new dining options: Public Pizza – Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, from John Racanelli of Scarsdale’s Via Forno Wood Fired Pizza & Vinoteca and long-time favorite Pizza & Brew; and Tennessee-based mini-chain Storming Crab, a specialist in Cajun seafood dishes, including their seafood boil presented on the table with gloves and bibs for all to dig in.

Westchester Burger Co. has closed its Mount Kisco location, which now houses Graziella’s North (353 N Bedford Rd; 914.218.3200). The original Graziella’s location in White Plains has been open since 1995; both restaurants are co-owned by Vincent Corso.

Caribbean Thyme (51 Court St, White Plains; 914.368.8664) has opened in the space that once housed Mokomiya Ramen.

Expected to have debuted by January is 40-seat Anna Maria’s Wine Bar (53 Purchase St, Rye) in the space that formerly housed The Red Pony. Owner-chef Anna Maria Santorelli previously ran Anna Maria’s in Larchmont for 13 years
