Beard House, that is. Semi-finalists have been announced for the prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards and Yonkers-own Chef Peter Kelley is up for the Best Chef in the Northeast category. The Foundation is looking at his work at his swank Piermont joint, Xaviars – though we all know, the man is ever-present at all of his restaurants. Ever modest, and ever answering his own email, Chef Kelly demurs, “There are many more deserving than I (but it sure is nice).” Bull. He deserves that sucker, and many more.
