Duke’s Burger Joint Dishes Eats at Decadent Ales in Mamaroneck

Burger with your brew? You can get just that at Decadent Ales in Mamaroneck, which now plays host to Duke’s Burger Joint.

Burgers and beer, name a better duo (we’ll wait). Bringing their latest “Duke” iteration to the streets of Mamaroneck, Baby Duke’s Kitchen owners Gene Lum and Robert Marinelli are now slinging comfort food out of local brewery hotspot Decadent Ales. The latest kitchen installment, Duke’s Burger Joint, gives diners and drinkers a full amusement park of menu items. Freshly shucked oysters that are kept crisply on ice in full display, candied maple bacon, chicken wings (with the option for Hennessy sauce), and Buffalo cauliflower that’s beer-battered in Decadent Ale’s own lager all add up to a strong line of starters.

For the marquee burgers, the same flow of culinary creativity carries through with the cheesesteak-inspired Philly Phil, the SoCal-riff Mexicali Blues, or the one that’s named after some of us (no names) on a Tuesday, a.k.a. the Dumpster Fire (more like Delicious Fire, piled high with bacon, avocado, onion ring, firehouse chili, and cheddar cheese). Grilled flatbread pizzas, salads, and quinoa bowls sparkle on the menu for lighter options.

If you’re not one for booze or burgers but have humored your friends into coming for Wednesday night trivia, Duke’s does dessert, too — and not your run-of-the-mill cookie and ice cream situation. For sweet aficionados, Duke’s is prepared with a churro sundae and lava cake on deck and doubles down with a milkshake selection of s’mores, cannoli, and Nutella.

Duke’s Burger Joint is another rung in the ladder for the Mamaroneck takeover, as the older brother of the soon-to-open Baby’s Duke’s Ramen, less than a mile away from both the flagship location and new burger spot. Gene Lum is no stranger to the neighborhood, helping his family with their restaurant Lum Yen, which stood the test of time on the corner of Mamaroneck Avenue and Boston Post Road for nearly 50 years.
