The coronavirus pandemic has changed pretty much everything about life as we knew it, but there have been a few silver linings over the past few months: more time at home with the family, and beer gardens in former parking lots!
A handful of restaurants around the county have set up beer gardens in their parking lots or neighboring green spaces allowing patrons to gather safely in the fresh air to cool down and chill out with a frosty mugga. Hey, the more the merrier, right?
Bridge View Tavern

Under social distance guidelines, the current beer garden can only accommodate four tables, but in the parking lot next door, a nice, big tent has been erected housing another ten tables (also socially distanced, natch).
A variety of beer, cider, and sangria is on the menu, along with a lengthy list of hand-crafted cocktails and GF beer, too.

As if grilled pizza isn’t enough of a reason to pay a visit, now just a few doors down, in a verdant space reminiscent of your own backyard, an honest-to-goodness beer garden has been planted, and about 20 patrons can pop a squat under Mother Nature’s canopy.
Those in the know enter right at the garden, but everyone else can just ask the hostess for an escort on over. Along with big, beefy burgers and that pizza, 7 beers are on tap and 30 come in cans.

And then there were two. This nayb fave Irish pub already had a beer garden out back, and now there’s another in the parking lot, bringing the total sipping spots to about 160.
The new space enjoys mood lighting via string lights and the air is cooled by misting stands, in case the 10 beers on tap and the dozen or so in cans don’t do the trick.Â
Broken Bow Brewery

A handful of hip and comfy Adirondack chairs take up residence in the employee parking lot when it gets too tight in the garden that already boasts seating for 80 guests.
Eleven beers are brewed on premises at this family-owned and operated microbrewery that also welcomes furry friends, frozen sangria, frose and cider sippers, and kids who slurp up slushies like they’re going out of style.
Peekskill Brewery

Always a good time in the beer garden here, but now that the parking lot has a few tables populating it, too, about 120 beer lovers can sit for a spell to sample one of 16 house-brewed suds on tap (and, there’s more in cans).
IPAs are popular, and current in-season faves include mango sour and passion fruit sour.
