And here we were gnashing our teeth that Union Square Hospitality Group was putting a Shake Shack in Westport and treating Westchester as flyover country. (Which, BTW, is particularly galling since Shake Shack’s CEO, David Swinghamer, lives in Rye.) It turns out that a totally unconfirmed rumor has Mr. Meyer himself checking out the real estate in Scarsdale, sniffing around the Beverly Hills of Westchester for a suitable restaurant site. A Shake Shack www.shakeshack.com? Who knows–though we hope that he’ll revisit the busted Delamar Hotel collaboration that was be called Blue Smoke Chop House (and was, sadly, never built).
