Each Christmas Eve, hordes of Italians devour course after seafood course at the Feast of the Seven Fishes, while the rest of us wish we were Italian. Well, you don’t need to be Italian—or even like fish, for that matter—to enjoy Growlers Beer Bistro‘s Feast of the Seven Dogfishes, a tradition (in its fourth year) at this hophead haven next to the Tuckahoe Metro-North station.
On Thursday, December 17, from 7 to 10 PM, seven Dogfish Head beers, including some rarities, will be tapped, and several seafood specials will be served alongside the regular menu.
If you’ve been chasing the 120 Minute IPA, get on this. (I grabbed my two-bottle allotment when I finally saw it for sale at Half Time, only to wish I’d aged the lapel-grabbing stuff per their suggestion.) This is also your chance to try Midas Touch, made with ingredients found in drinking vessels from King Midas’ tomb (we won’t dig too deeply), and Fort, a potent ale brewed with “a ridiculous amount of raspberry juice” (no such thing, I say).
Other selections include the 60 and 90 Minute IPAs, Piercing Pils, and Indian Brown Ale. Have a holly jolly hangover, will ya?
