1) Autumn Ambush Ale collaboration by Captain Lawrence and The Cookery. The good news is that the brown ale—which is flavored by Chef David DiBari’s proprietary mix of Indian spices that includes (but is not limited to) black peppercorns and green cardamom pods—was available on tap for a limited time at The Cookery and at Captain Lawrence Brewing Company. The bad news is that the beer’s launch party at Captain Lawrence was immediately followed by an explosion of party chafing-dish fuel in The Cookery’s basement. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt (and it was a really great party).
