Here’s Where to Grab a Slice of Breakfast Pizza in Westchester

Just when you thought a slice of ‘za couldn’t get any better, 914 restaurants give it a brunch-style twist that will make your mouth water.

It’s no secret that breakfast is good any time of day, and there’s no shame in eating pizza straight out the fridge for breakfast, so it’s really no surprise that somebody finally put two and two together and created…all together now…breakfast pizza!

Savory, satisfying, and curiously intriguing (bacon and eggs on pizza really do work), it’s a thing on brunch menus across Westchester, and why not? No matter how you slice it, breakfast pizza is both the most important meal of the day and an easy crowd-pleaser all in one. Here is a little piece of breakfast pizza heaven that we just can’t get enough of. (And, that’s no yoke!)

Most resembling a proper brekkie, but with a little added flair (perhaps a nod to the ornate chandeliers set against casual high-top tables and cozy exposed brick), the breakfast pizza served on the weekends during brunch (11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) consists of corned beef, potatoes, mozzarella, fontina, poached egg, pane, and truffle. In addition, there’s also The Benny, and it goes like this: chopped eggs, cream, garlic, hollandaise sauce, parmesan, Canadian bacon, paprika, and chives. Handmade GF crust is available by request. (Pro tip: brunchers enjoy a complimentary Bloody Mary or mimosa with their meal.)

Harvest on Hudson

1 River St, Hastings-on-Hudson; 914.478.2800

The trusty bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll is no stranger to Westchesterites and, on this weekend brunch menu (11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.), the much-loved breakfast staple is reinvented as bacon, egg, and cheese pizza. In place of American, it’s mozzarella, and the bacon is smoked, the eggs are sunny, there’s fresh tomato on top, and the crust is born in the brick oven. And for all the anti-eggers in the room, there’s also a cured salmon slice with cream cheese and spring onion, aptly named the Everything Bagel Pizza. (Pro tip: brunchers enjoy a complimentary Bellini, mimosa, or Rossini with their meal.)

In addition, the GrandPops Pizza tempts with soft scramble, potatoes, peppers, and onions. Mangia to the max!

Via Forno

2 Garth Rd, Scarsdale; 914.556.6464

At this modern interpretation of a traditional wood-fired pizza joint and wine bar, there are two breakfast pizzas to choose from during Sunday brunch (noon to 3 p.m.), and each comes with a side of live jazz on the patio. First, consider the Prima Colazione Pizza of fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, eggs, spinach, mushrooms, and fresh basil. Next up, Nonna’s Breakfast Pizza involves fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, sausage, peppers, eggs, Calabrian chili, and fresh basil.

RiverMarket Bar & Kitchen

127 W Main St, Tarrytown; 914.631.3100

Although breakfast pizza is not on the brunch menu at this riverfront scene per se, lunch and dinnertime diners do have the option of creating their own pizzas from a curated list of ingredients that include smoked Hemlock Hill Farm bacon and a farmhouse egg (or four). Toss in a little fresh mozz, maybe some house-roasted red peppers, and place it all atop a wood-fired crust crafted from 00 soft wheat flour imported from Napoli, and that there’s brekkie in our book.
