Beer For Breakfast? Don't Judge Until You've Tried Yonkers Brewing Company

And if you thought beer was the only worthwhile option there, think again.

Beer for breakfast sounds like a frat boy’s hangover cure, but at Yonkers Brewing Company, it’s your best bet for a satisfying morning meal. The popular Westchester brewery opened the doors to its first public location in January in the historic, industrial-looking Yonkers Trolley Barn. Since April, the company has offered brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10 am to 3 pm, and, as you’d expect, our favorite menu items are all about the beer.

The Blonde’Mosa is the brewery’s answer to a classic brunch staple the Mimosa. Their Honey Blonde beer gets a shot of orange juice (think Blue Moon with orange), resulting in a cocktail that’s bright and clean—and light enough for brunch.

For your main course, order the Van der Donck Wafel (above, left)—a simple waffle doused in rich, dark caramel sauce made with the company’s own Yonkers Vanilla Stout. For non-beer drinkers, the menu offers a variety of egg dishes, plus regular lunch menu items, and a kid-friendly Nutella-stuffed French toast. And it’s affordable, with the most expensive brunch dishes topping out at $9.
