The Tastiest Food News to Bookmark in Westchester This August

A new French bistro, a speakeasy-style bar and sushi lounge in Greenwich, a Greek restaurant serving up gyros, and more in Westchester.

Expected to have opened by late July/early August in the space that last housed Scarsdale Metro is Micheline (878 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale; 914.504.1717; michelinerestaurant.com), a French bistro from GM Jonathan Aubrey (Eleven Madison Park, Happy Cooking Hospitality, Nur) and Executive Chef Josh Capone, formerly chef de cuisine at Daniel. The duo, from Scarsdale and Katonah, respectively, emphasize house-made and local for the menu; the beverage program includes an all-French wine list and craft cocktails. Dinner service Wednesday to Sunday to start, but brunch and lunch are planned.

Restaurateurs Chef Steven Chen and K Dong have debuted their third Connecticut restaurant MOLI and first speakeasy-style bar concept Bar MOLI (253 Greenwich Ave, Greenwich; 203.900.4567; moligreenwich.com). The space previously was the location of Douro Restaurant and Bar. The duo’s other restaurants include MIKU Sushi and HINOKI in Greenwich, KUMO Sushi Lounge in Scarsdale, and Blu Sushi Bar at Blu on the Hudson in Weehawken.

Dave DiBari has shuttered his blockbuster sandwich offerings at The Bus at Salinger’s Orchard (230 Guinea Rd, Brewster; 845.277.3521; salingersorchard.net); new to the school bus-turned-kitchen is a barbecue menu from Salinger’s including St. Louis ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, smoked pork and cheddar sausage, and smoked double chicken wings. Barbecue is also on offer by the team from Purdy’s Farmer & the Fish at Br’ers BBQ (52 Church St, Bedford Hills; brersbbq.com). On the menu: smoked pork shoulder, baby back ribs, smoked salmon, fried chicken, plus shakes including the peanut butter crunch with vanilla ice cream, peanut butter sauce, fudge sauce, and pretzels and Butterfinger pieces.

The popular county Greek restaurant Lefteris Gyro (lefterisgyro.com) now has a fourth location (149 Central Ave, Hartsdale; 914.437.5200), occupying the space that formerly housed Captain Crab.

Danielle Ceruzzi is the new executive chef at Apropos Restaurant at The Abbey Inn & Spa (900 Fort Hill Rd, Peekskill; 914.739.3546; aproposrestaurant.com). Ceruzzi was promoted from sous chef to head the kitchen when former executive chef Jared Secor left to take the same position at Equus at the Castle Hotel & Spa (400 Benedict Ave, Tarrytown; 914.631.1980; castlehotelandspa.com).
