7 Wildly Weird Dobbs Ferry Hot Dogs

Take a look at some of the eclectic franks offered at Dobbs Dawg House.

Frankfurter, weenie, red hot…no matter what you call it, everyone loves a good hot dog. One unique Dobbs Ferry joint prefers the term “hot dawg.” Dobbs Dawg House has been serving up a wide array of hot dogs for nearly six years. While you can get a standard dog with mustard and sauerkraut, what makes Dobbs Dawg House truly stand out is their menu of more than 50 crazy varieties. “We try to offer something for everyone,” says owner Rob Dubilier. “Everyone has a memory of a hot dog from when they were growing up, whether it was at the ball game with their dad, a backyard barbecue, or just a family dinner. We wanted to help create memories for people to remember, look back on, and smile.”

The most popular dog, according to Dubilier, is the Mac Attack, piled high with mac n’ cheese and crispy bacon. But that’s nothing compared to some of the other creations that are served at this awesome establishment. “Many of the combinations come from things we like to eat,” explains Dubilier. “If you like the flavor profile, put it on a hot dog.” Dobbs Dawg House is always working on new creations, but here are seven of the strangest dogs on offer :

1. The Stuffed French Toast is not your typical breakfast order. This deep-fried dog is topped with cream cheese, bacon, grape jelly, maple syrup, cinnamon sugar, and powdered sugar.

2. Try your hand at The Outlaw, with ranch dressing, barbecue sauce, hot sauce, mozzarella cheese, melted cheese, and bacon. That’s one savory dog!

3. Tired of California rolls? Then the Sushi Dawg is for you. This Japanese-inspired creation includes ginger soy mayo, wasabi cream, seaweed salad, pickled ginger, and sesame seeds. No chopsticks for this one.

4. Feast your eyes on the Obey Not. This dog is topped with cream cheese, chipotle hot sauce, banana peppers, a pickle spear, yellow mustard, coleslaw, celery salt, and crushed potato chips. Your mind may very well be blown by this flavor profile.

5. Those who prefer a hot dog “with everything” won’t go wrong with the aptly named Kitchen Sink. barbecue sauce, sriracha, tomatoes, diced onions, bacon, tater tots, chili, mac ’n’ cheese, cheddar cheese, and crushed potato chips sit atop a deep-fried dog that may prove difficult to wrap your jaws around.

6. Make sure you leave room for the Dessert Dawg, topped with peanut butter, sliced bananas, chocolate sauce, and crushed peanuts.

7. Just in time for the holiday season, Dubilier is bringing back the Griffin Gobbler. “Every year we offer it during the week of Thanksgiving.” This deep-fried turkey dog is topped with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and gravy.
