How could we resist a design inspired by the family dog? It seems the Bedford Hills homeowner was in love with her dog Asher’s unusual “greige” coloring. To match it (and help the kitchen coordinate with the dog), designer Veronica Campbell started with warm tones of hand-weathered wood, sandy shades of Caesar stone, and a gray and beige collage of natural stone for the backsplash. A stainless-steel rail system keeps an iPad and frequently used items safely off the counter but close at hand. The Laura Kirar for Arteriors chandelier adds just the right amount of drama. “I love how something as simple as a light fixture can be such a conversation piece,” Campbell says.
