Time in the Business: “I started building and learning the trade at a young age,” says Girardi. “While attending Lincoln High School, I spent my summers working for a well-known builder in Somers. This continued while I attended Manhattan College. I quickly realized my passion was in residential construction and went to work full-time for the builder. During my time there, he taught me much of what I know, including construction technique, project scheduling, and project management. He said, ‘One of two things will happen: Either I will make you partner or you will start your own business.’ I started my business in November 1998 — 19 years ago.”
