Inspired by tulips, each handmade ceramic weather-resistant flower is hand-painted red, white, pink, blue, purple, etc. Made of high-temperature stoneware, they can remain outside 365 days a year.

Gerald Palumbo and Pierre Francois Supreme boast extensive expertise in design and antiques, which is why their antique shop tops the list. Supreme, who started the business with Palumbo in 2010, was brought up around antiques with his family’s business in Montreal while Palumbo was trained formally as a designer and worked with esteemed design and architectural firms in NYC for many years. The shop moved to Hudson in 2016 and then in 2023, the Tarrytown location opened to bring their expertise and antiques to even more shoppers.

Started by Sarah Briginshaw, who wanted to champion the creativity of her birth country, South Africa, which offered a melting pot of Indian, European, and African cultures, the shop includes everything from furniture and accessories to jewelry and art with an emphasis on quality and sustainability. Often the pieces you find in the shop are handmade and one-of-a-kind.

New Home Design Store

Opened this past year by veteran designers and friends Bets Miller and Michelle Sriubas, Finch & Co. not only offers interior design services but also a fab showroom full of home décor items and furnishings, many of which can be customized for the home. It also features gift items for everyone on your list, including kids. Miller, who previously owned the shop Nest (which was also located in Rye) is known for curating a collection of stylish items that will fit any interior and style.

The British kitchen-and-design brand recently opened a gallery in Mamaroneck bringing new kitchen design ideas to Westchester. Founded in 2019 by designer Andrew Hays under the umbrella of acclaimed London design house ARTEIM, Cabbonet features bespoke finishes that celebrate the art of tactility, new and old materials, and experiments with traditional finishes in contemporary contexts. Located in the Northeast Architectural space on Boston Post Road, you will find a curated vignette showcasing the brand’s eclectic style and selections of materials and finishes.

What started as one of the first handful of vintage rug sellers has turned into a go-to for one-of-a-kind pieces with an emphasis on unique, collectible, and decorative antique rugs and vintage carpets. Old New House, which is owned by couple Melissa and Dave Dilmaghani, also sells locally sewn rug pillows, paintings, maps, and small batch furniture made in-house out of its flagship showroom and online. Dave has rugs in his blood — ancestors on both his mother’s and father’s side were rug sellers — so he has the history and the expertise to go along with the products they make and sell.
