The wake robin shop, with its exposed
brick, tin ceiling, wood floors, and skylight, is as cool as its offerings. In addition to vintage and new furniture, the store has tabletop accessories, textiles, and lighting, much of it handcrafted. Elegant vintage crystal chandeliers, Louis XVI-style Bergere armchairs, and tabletop linens share space with ultra-cool Lucite chairs and intricately embellished pillows handmade in India.

Since the Decorative Hardware Studio line of museum-quality, solid brass hardware was launched to the trade in 1982, it has found its way into Carnegie Hall, the Clinton Presidential Museum in Arkansas, a plush New Delhi hotel, and a host of glittering Las Vegas casinos. Now you can bring its gorgeous, jewelry-like pieces to your home, thanks to its first open-to-the-public showroom. Offered in 20 custom finishes, each piece is hand-cast and hand-polished to a rich finish in another facility, also in Chappaqua. Prices rangefrom $6-plus for cabinet knobs to $300-plus for tapestry rods to as much as $1,500 for a stair rod to $1,500-plus for drapery hardware for a four-foot window. And, if your own doorknobs and drawer pulls are looking a bit worse for wear, bring them here for refinishing and restoration.

You never know what you’ll find, but it can be yours for way less than its previous owners shelled out. Best of all? All proceeds benefit (hence, its name) local charities.
