Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Best of Westchester®?
The Best of Westchester® is a celebration of Westchester’s finest — not just shops, but people, services, and spectacular culinary and creative talents, as voted by the readers and editors of Westchester Magazine.
What is the Best of Westchester® Party?
The Best of Westchester® Party showcases nearly 150 of this year’s winners in categories including: best new restaurant, steak, seafood, wine list, romantic dining, salong/spa, car dealer, radio station and many more. So, it will be a party like no other where the food, drink, entertainment…everything will be “The Best.”
How does Westchester Magazine choose Best of Westchester® winners?
Westchester Magazine asks readers to choose their favorites — be it, their most loved Mexican restaurant, their favorite new drinking spot, their No. 1 spa — through an online ballot. The people, places and services that get the most votes are deemed the year’s Best of Westchester® Winners: Readers’ Picks.
Our editors choose their favorites based on a year’s worth of research. All year long, editors look, sample, visit, and experience as much as they can in the county to choose the Best. During this process, they pay for all the meals and services, and do their own research anonymously. Then, they meet up as a group and discuss, argue, and consider every recommendation. Those that all of our editors agree on end up as Best of Westchester® Winners: Editors’ Picks.
Don’t your advertisers automatically win?
Absolutely not. Best of Westchester® results are entirely based on your ballots and our research; there is no connection between advertisers and winners. Period.
Although some winners may later choose to advertise, or happen to be advertisers, advertising is in no way a requirement. Sure, we could make a few folks happy by “selling” winners. In the long run, however, we’d lose a lot more than we’d gain. Like our credibility and your trust.
How big is the party?
We have more than 150 displays and expect about 3,000 plus guests.
When is the party?
Wednesday, September 23, 2020. VIP entrance is at 6:00pm, General Admission at 7:00pm. Things wrap up at 10:00pm.
What about bad weather? Is there a rain date?
Everything is either inside the club, or under a canopy or tent. The event is held rain or shine.
How much does it cost?
VIP passes are $110 and General Admission passes are $85.
How can I purchase tickets?
Do I need to bring money?
Vendors do not sell anything. This is not a trade show, it’s a party! Everything is included in the ticket price. There is a cash bar if you would like to purchase a beverage that we are not serving. We also have a Silent Auction & Raffles to benefit our charity that many Best of Westchester® winners donate items to.
I purchased my passes. How do I get them?
Your tickets will be sent to you via email from Showclix. Flag the email once you receive it so you can easily find it later. Make sure to print out your tickets and bring them with you the day of the party. No one will be admitted without a ticket. Once you arrive, your ticket will be scanned at the Registration Tent in the parking lot, then you will be given a wristband. You will then catch the shuttle bus to the party. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE SHUTTLE BUS WITHOUT A WRISTBAND OR BEING ID’D.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable, no exceptions. Remember to bring a print out of your admission ticket, and bring it with you to the Registration Tent.
Can I bring my child?
NO. This event is 21 and older, and alcohol will be served. You must have your ID on you to get inside. NO ONE under 21 will be allowed in under any circumstances.
What about parking?
Parking is available at the public park adjacent to the Harbour Club and is free of charge. We have several shuttle buses running throughout the evening to take you to and from the party.
How early should I get there?
Try to be reasonably early, but not too early. Due to the size of the party (2,000+ people) and the fact that there is only one road onto and off the island, it is difficult to accommodate everyone in an efficient manner if everyone arrives at once. We have staff members from Westchester Magazine, the Westchester Parks Department, and local law enforcement assisting to get everyone parked and shuttled to the party as quickly as possible, but please try to be patient. We promise you, it is worth the wait.
What should I wear?
Party attire! We won’t turn you away, but shorts and tshirts are frowned upon.
