Long ago, I planned that I would buy Maisie her own big-girl bed rather than buy a second crib. It just seemed a better use of money. What I hadn’t counted on is that she should be in her own bed before the baby came!
Now and then I stumble upon a little treasure that I almost don’t want to share for fear it’ll get too popular. Of course, my mommy friend, Tanya, told me so I guess it’s only fair I share it with you. I’m talking about Harbor Island Park.
It really isn’t cheap to have a family these days, is it? Taking your kid to a baseball game in New York City costs the same as taking a family vacation did when I was a kid. Heck, even a movie for four is a bank-breaker.
How I love the 4th of July! As a kid, I lived for the darn thing. Of course, growing up in Midland, Texas, didn’t exactly afford me any fabulous sights. We had to settle for sparklers in the backyard and blowing up fireworks out in the country with neighborhood friends.
My in-laws came to visit this weekend and, with them, Maisie’s cousins, four-year-old Tyler and two-and-a-half-year-old Phoebe. Who ever knew that three toddlers could make so much noise? Oh, the fun they had!
Whew...summer is here—well, unofficially anyway. Isn’t it fabulous? Warm weather means we can finally take our kiddos outside. Of course, we’ve already had a few days in the 90s which are too hot for kids—or pregnant mothers!
My husband is a great dad. Maisie giggles endlessly when he’s playing with her. He changes diapers, does his share of baths, carries her on his shoulders for hours on end or takes her swimming when the water is just too darn cold for me.
