No more sitting in mundane morning traffic while searching for an amusing segment on the radio or hunting for a seat on the Metro-North alongside fellow commuters. Call it a thing of the past, at least for those willing to pay an extra price to speed up their morning commute into New York City. Starting next month, Wings Air Helicopter will have Westchester commutes covered in a whole new way.
Beginning on March 1, Wings Air will offer weekday morning commuter flights from Westchester County Airport (HPN) to New York City. The flights will depart on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 8 a.m. and will take a swift 15 minutes before landing at the East 34th Street Heliport. Based on demand, the company will integrate additional flights into the schedule.
Pricing for the commute starts at $499 a seat, plus booking fees. The company offers package deals for frequent flyers, and reservations are first come, first served. The commutes will have a 48-hour cancellation policy, with exceptions made for bad weather, maintenance, or other operational reasons. Wings Air’s Airbus AS350 has a four-commuter minimum and can hold up to six passengers. The Airbus used for this commute is known for its superior performance and reliability worldwide. Passengers will sit in forward-facing seats and slip on their BOSE noise-cancelling headsets. Plus, who wouldn’t want to take in the incredible views along the way?
