The highlight of the Westchester Magazine Wine & Food Weekend was the fabulous Winemakers’ Dinner in the Grand Ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, on Saturday night. Diana Gould helped transform the room into a beautiful palace with flower arrangements that were to die for. The six-course, formal dinner was prepared by five of Westchester’s most celebrated chefs, including James Dangler of The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester; Peter X. Kelly of X2O; Ethan Kostbar of Moderne Barn; Marc Lippman of Crabtree’s Kittle House; and Anthony Goncalves of 42 The Restaurant. My favorite course was the bone marrow dish by Peter X. Kelly, followed by the delicious salmon (I even had two). Author and Founder of the Windows on the World Wine School Kevin Zraly and Westchester restaurateur John Crabtree of Kittle House received Westchester Magazine’s Wine & Food Awards. The highlight of the evening was definitely the special introduction by former President Bill Clinton before John Crabtree accepted his award, in which Clinton stated that Crabtree is “truly a good man.” Crabtree received a standing ovation from the crowd. And if you weren’t already full enough, people kept the party going into the early morning at 42 The Restaurant, where Anthony Goncalves brought out even more food! Thank God for Spanx!
