Aside from a rotating list of shake flavors, Walter’s Hot Dogs doesn’t change their menu. Why mess with something that’s been working for close to 100 years—split dogs of beef, pork, and veal on toasted buns with Walter’s signature mustard-relish combo.
Funnel cake “fries” coming at you! Bet you can’t have just one. |
In conjunction with announcing the launch of their second food truck, they have added an item reminiscent of carnival boardwalks and lazy hot summer days. Funnel cake fries ($3.75), sweet, crisp easy-to-eat sticks of boardwalk-style funnel cake topped with powdered sugar. Unlike many boardwalk funnel cakes, the grease-factor was low and they are not unwieldy to eat—you likely will not want to share these addictive “fries” with even your nearest and dearest. They are offered at the stand and on the trucks and Walter’s has been selling between 350-400 orders per week.
Puffy Dogs are available (trucks only) in single or double. Go for the double! |
Walter’s also added the Puffy Dog (a classic Walter’s dog with two fried, grilled, and smashed potato puffs on top), which are only available on the trucks.
Walter’s truck will be parked at the White Plains Farmer’s Market each Wednesday, beginning April 27. Check out their website for other locations and dates.
