This month, the U.S. Open returns to Winged Foot’s historic West Course for only the sixth time in the tournament’s history. Originally scheduled for June, the 120th championship was postponed until September because of COVID-19, so things may look a little different this year. Since it had just been announced by the USGA at press time that this year’s event would be held without spectators, we thought a friendly little historical retrospective might help ease the pain.
