Truffle dishes from pastas to tacos are popping up all over Westchester County now that fall is in the air.

In Tuscany and the Piedmont region of Italy, autumn is truffle season — and it’s no different here in Westchester. Rich, redolent, truffle-infused pastas, pizzas, fries, sammies, even potato chips and tacos are highlighted on the menus of many Westchester restaurants this fall for foodies seeking a taste of Italy. Here are some dishes not to miss.

Truffle Burrata at North Street Tavern & Wood-Fired Pizza

1128 North St, White Plains; 914.437.1111

North Street Tavern in White Plains serves up delicious truffle burrata to go with its amazing wood-fired pizza. The burrata is topped with black truffle, chopped tomato, and basil with a porcini mushroom glaze. We wouldn’t want to start off our meal any other way.

Truffle Potato Chips at 105-Ten Bar and Grill

127 Woodside Ave, Briarcliff Manor; 914.236.3651

At 105 Ten Bar and Grill, elevating typical bar food is the norm. Throughout the menu, you’ll find mentions of truffle oil, boldly and delicately, adding flavor to a variety of dishes, but one stands out: the potato chips. House-made, they are topped with blue cheese fondue and truffle oil, and once you eat one, you won’t stop.

Truffle Fries at Lilly’s

While White Plains has many options for dining, Lilly’s has been a neighborhood hit since its opening. Serving up fantastic options like alla vodka pizza and shrimp scampi, the restaurant knows that its sides better stand out or they aren’t making the cut. Luckily for Lilly’s, its truffle parmesan fries — served up fresh and crispy — are a consistent crowd pleaser.

Truffle Brussels at 808 Bistro

808 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale; 914.722.0808

At 808 Bistro in Scarsdale, the goal is to bring hearty food right to Westchester, and its Brussels sprouts truly deliver. The dish starts off with a truffle honey ricotta (read that again) and then the Brussels sprouts are placed right on top. Enjoy these crispy bad boys as an appetizer or a side, and don’t say we never gave you anything.

Truffle Chicken at Modern on the Rails

1 Station Plaza, Mamaroneck; 914.777.9300

Many Westchester spots serve up your typical panko chicken dish, but Modern on the Rails does things differently. This Mamaroneck hotspot takes a panko-encrusted chicken breast and tops it in a creamy Reggiano truffle sauce. This dish is rich but still has crispy edges that keep us coming back for more.

Truffle Grilled Cheese at Pop’s Espresso Bar

7 Huguenot Street, New Rochelle; 914.278.9533

Espresso might be in the name but that definitely is not the only claim to fame here. On the lunch menu, you will find the ultimate sammie in the form of the pressed truffle cheese on country white. Pop’s uses fig jam, goat cheese, fontina, and truffle oil on its country white to cook up a delicious melt that’s full of flavor.

Truffle Mac ‘n Cheese at Meso Mediterranean Cuisine

22 Elm Place, Rye; 914.305.6683

Meso may be a Mediterranean restaurant, but truffle mac ‘n cheese is an all-day affair for food lovers. Order it at brunch, happy hour, or as a side at dinner, and dig into white cheddar and black truffle oil pasta that’s baked to add a crispy topping.

17 Maple Ave, Armonk; 914.273.0900

At this mini-Westchester chain, the culinary team is all about truffles. Scroll through the menu and you will find a bevy of options, but one stands out: the cavatelli topped with truffle, black pepper, and Tapping Reeve cheese. Need more truffle? Pair this pasta with the delicious LB pizza (burrata, robiolona, parm, and black truffle) for a truffle-tastic experience that all food lovers need in their lives.

Truffle Risotto at Lombardo’s

1203 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains; 914.615.9090
10 Hamilton St, Dobbs Ferry; 914.479.5296

Lombardo’s serves up Italian classics like grandma slices, chicken parm, and Milanese, but the truffle risotto is a must-try. Lombardo’s uses imported Italian rice, sautéed mushrooms, cream, truffle oil, and shaved Reggiano cheese to create this ooey-gooey masterpiece. Pro tip: Get an order of garlic bread and dip it right into the risotto.

Truffle Tacos at Taco Dive Bar

55 Hudson Ave, Peekskill; 914.788.8226

At this Peekskill joint, the kitchen team handmakes white-corn tortillas that are then soft-griddled and topped with delicious ingredients. Among the many unique taco options is what Taco Dive Bar calls the “portabella and goat cheese.” The taco is also topped with arugula, tomato, and truffle-white balsamic vinaigrette. (Please bathe us in truffle-white balsamic vinaigrette from now on.)
