This Taphouse Has Hundreds (Yes, Hundreds) of Beers to Sip On

Take your pick from more than 400 craft beers at Mamaroneck’s Sedona Taphouse.

Tired of the standard beer selection that nearly every bar seems to offer? You won’t run into that once you belly up to the bar at Sedona Taphouse. The 15-month-old restaurant, located in Mamaroneck, boasts more than 400 craft beers, with 50 constantly rotating on tap. “We maintain a concentrated focus on our local craft breweries, and we do not serve mass-produced beers,” says Ron Duckstein, CEO of R&J Hospitality. Coors and Budweiser fans need not worry, however. “We can provide you with same-style craft options that will blow you away. You will never go back to your old standby,” says Duckstein.

While it’s rare to find the same draft list menu two days in a row, Sedona will keep certain beers on tap if they prove to be exceptionally popular — just as long as they’re obtainable. “Many of our offerings are seasonal or ‘one-offs,’ and once they’re gone, they’re no longer available,” says Duckstein. It’s safe to say that there’s at least one flavor for every palate, from citrus and melon to coffee and vanilla. Maple Bacon Coffee Porter, anyone? How about New Belgium’s Coconut Curry Hefeweizen?

All of the beers are stored in-house, in a temperature- and light-controlled environment. Sedona will also age certain beers so that the flavors continue to develop, according to Duckstein. Though it may seem like a beer lover’s dream come true, staying on top of all of those beers is a never-ending process. “We spend a great deal of time speaking to and tasting beers with distributors, brewers, and customers to identify the most recent and exciting new brews to be ordered,” Duckstein explains. “We often visit breweries to sample current creations. We evaluate taste, appearance, and ratings when considering our next selections.”

Not sure which beer is right for you? Sedona also offers flights of four beers to help you decide. No matter what you choose, there’s a dish on the menu that will go with it, whether it’s shellfish, pasta, or meat. Now that your mouth is thirsting for a pint, plan your next outing and head to Sedona to discover your new favorite beer.
