When husband-wife team Nick and Sandra Guarriello sought to open their first business, they wanted to focus on one thing and do it right. Sandra, a licensed aesthetician, fell in love with the art of lashing — adhering one synthetic eyelash to a natural lash to create long, dark, and full semi-permanent eyelashes. As the two felt other spas offered myriad services, they wanted to master eyelash extensions. In September of last year, they opened Iconic Lash Lounge (1853 Commerce St, Yorktown Heights) in Underhill Plaza and have experienced notable growth in the months since.
The spa has a tranquil and contemporary vibe, featuring sleek décor. With private treatment rooms, the focus is on the individual. Sandra, 25, and her team create face-framing extensions for each client, using faux-mink lashes that come in several lengths and widths to fit individual preference. The menu offers sets with catchy names, like Knockout, Trophy Wife, Bombshell, and for those seriously committed clients — of which there are many — Iconic offers a Lash Pass (three prepaid fills, with savings per fill).

Nick, 28, has a background in film-set production, having worked with giants like Marvel, Netflix, and Amazon. He uses his creative energy to single-handedly market Iconic through custom-made innovative campaigns. The Yonkers natives often partner with other companies to foster a sense of community within the local business scene.
Through Iconic, Sandra says she and her husband “want to build a brand that allows us to pursue our passions and leave a legacy behind.” They credit their success to their team. “You can’t build a dream without a team, and I’m thankful for ours,” says Nick.
