After attending a recent class at Mamaroneck’s Push Fitness, one thing is clear: the name definitely fits. Owner and head trainer Eddie Geideman pushes participants in a fun and challenging way during classes that are equal parts get-together and sweat session.
As group fitness classes rise in popularity, Push adopts many of the methodologies popular in boot camp and cross training methodologies and turns them into an enjoyable sweat session suitable for people from all walks of life. While the actual space is somewhat small and without a locker room, the equipment is chosen so wisely that workouts do not seem to suffer.

These workouts include Push Max 45 sessions, which are 45-minute workouts that change from day to day and include elements like cardio bikes, calisthenics, free weights, and short runs. There is also a 60-minute version of this workout conducted on Saturday mornings.
Like many of the most popular fitness programs, Push uses high intensity interval training (HIIT), to condition and strengthen clients in the shortest possible timeframe. The classes, which have roughly 10-15 members per session, provide a challenging, whole-body workout while maintaining a light and accepting atmosphere.

Beyond their classes, Push also offers personal training session with one of their several trainers. This includes Geideman, who began a career in real estate before realizing he was most interested in helping others find better health through fitness. Personal training sessions can be booked for half-hour or one-hour periods.
