The Max Cure Foundation’s Roar for a Cure Cocktail Party

Churchills of Mount Kisco

The Max Cure Foundation Inc., which supports pediatric cancer causes, was the beneficiary of a night of shopping at a Roar for a Cure party held at high-end clothing boutique Churchills of Mount Kisco. Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones of Bedford was honorary chair (though she did not attend). After an introduction by Churchills’ co-owners Lori Land and Daniele Churchill, Max Cure Foundation co-founder David Plotkin spoke about his son’s fight with B-cell lymphoma and the founding of the charity with wife Annemarie and friends. The approximately 200 guests then shopped (receiving 15 percent off all merchandise and a $100 gift card for every $1000 spent), enjoyed wine and hors d’œuvres, and participated in silent and live auctions. Food and beverage provided by Pranzi Ristorante & Enoteca in White Plains, W.J. Deutsch & Sons, Ltd. wine importers in White Plains, and Rivervale, New Jersey-based In Thyme Catered Events (also in Manhattan).
The Max Cure Foundation is dedicated to advancing cures for pediatric cancers, funding the development of less toxic treatments for children with the disease and assisting, financially or otherwise, low-income families whose children are battling cancer.
