The Lein Diamond Wedding

Rachael Lein, 27, and Graig Diamond, 28, both grew up in Westchester; he in Rye Brook, she in White Plains. And even though they lived about an exit away from each other off Hutchinson River Parkway, they never met until they were set up in 2005—by her father and a friend of Graig’s mom. They dated for three years before tying the knot.

Two hundred guests gathered to witness the ceremony, officiated by Rabbi Mitch Hurvitz, from Temple Shalom in Greenwich, Connecticut, at The Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck. “Graig and I visited so many places before choosing the Hampshire Country Club,” Rachael says. “We liked that it was in a more residential setting and right on the water. Plus, they had just finished renovations, so that sealed the deal.”

After the 7:30 pm ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers before sitting down to dine on rack of lamb or mahi mahi. The reception lasted until 1:00 am, with entertainment by the Hank Lane Band. The couple spent five months taking dance lessons to perfect their moves to Rod Stewart’s “It Had to be You.”

The bride graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, where she received a BA in journalism and is a senior account manager at Behrman Communications in Manhattan. The groom graduated from Cornell University, where he received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Engineering. He is a product manager at FactSet Research Systems, Inc., in New York City. The bride and groom currently reside in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
